The Afrikan Culture Society records are those of a Leavenworth Penitentiary, Leavenworth, Kansas based group attempting to raise awareness of African American history and cultural, social, and political problems.

Benjamin Day served as an educator and principal in the Leavenworth, Kansas, school system for thirty one years before becoming a City Council member and the city's first African American mayor. The collection contains material relating to his service to the city, as well as his involvment in other community organizations.

The Staff F. Johnson papers are those of a Leavenworth, Kansas man who was very active in both the Kansas State Protective Home Association and the Parents and Teachers Association.

The Stovall family were residents of Leavenworth, Kansas from the 1940s-1990s. The collection is comprised of material assembled by Gertrude Stovall and related to church organizations in Kansas and Washington state, as well as collected documents regarding family members, published material from the family library, and photographs.

Native Kansan Willard Johnson, Sr, was born near Leavenworth, Kansas and became a leading bacteriologist. His son, Willard Johnson, Jr., became a professor of political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The collection includes records and manuscripts of several Johnson family members.
